Hi Kirsten, wow a Lulu Lemon shoot! You look great! Where were you with the snow?
I have a question for you - do you count carbs from all your foods, not just starchy carbs, and what is your limit for a day?
Thanks for your input!
Hi Cheryl,
Whoop! A trip coming up, eh? Good for you! My Christmas shopping is about half done, but I'm sure I'll continue shopping up to Christmas.
I didn't realize peas and carrots were higher in carbs than cauliflower and brocolli. I have to admit that I don't count carbs but do watch my sugar intake. I try to convince myself that vegetables are all healthy and I must be getting some type of fiber and nutritional value from veggies. I did know that carrots are higher in sugar than other veggies. Do you really have to watch the carbs intake? You're in such great shape, that I can only assume a good clean diet combined with exercise does the trick for you.

Hi Kirsten, that's really impressive to be LuLu's ambassador, good for you! Xmas shopping is started, long way from done though - what about you? Well with the carbs I only just realized lately that they are higher in peas and carrots as opposed to cauliflower and brocolli (lightbulb moment I guess) - I don't know if you actually worry about that stuff or not, but for me I seem to have to watch every carb if I want to "get ripped" - as much as I can anyway.
Hi Cheryl,
You look fab in a bikini and your puppy is super cute! Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? I've started but still have more to buy.
I'm actually the Lulu Lemon Ambassador for the 4th street store in Calgary. We had a photo shoot in October, after that snowfall around Thanksgiving hence the snow. I don't count carbs, but do try to avoid them. I consider a piece of toast with peanut butter a big treat! haha! I mainly eat fruits and vegetables for carbs. I say "mainly" because I do indulge from time to time in the starchy carbs, but only for treats. You're a lean machine - what does your diet consist of on a usual day? Do you avoid carbs, or only eat them in the morning?
I'm so sorry for not responding earlier, but I failed to see "page 2" until Jari pointed it out to me. You're a sweater too? Hooray! Did you know that sweating indicates you're in good physical form because your body is cooling itself from the workout? Well, that's what my ironman friend told me and I think he's right! You know Cheryl, I think I do put muscle on more easily than other women. Perhaps, it's partially genetic, but I do try to eat lean protein and vegetable with every meal. I do incorporate heavy weights into my fitness routine, although the last few months I've stuck to running outside and ripped. Summer time is meant to be spent outside, however now that winter is here (or fast approaching) I'll re-evaluate my routine and hit the weight room again and do different forms of cardio. I try not to eat too many starches like bread or pasta or God forbid...sugar...sugar is my enemy because one I start it's difficult to stop. For me, it's best to maintain a consistent, level blood sugar. Although, I'm certainly NOT perfect and do indulge from time to time. You, on the other hand look gorgeous and should count your blessing for being the perfect package - beauty, fitness, kindness and smarts.... I had a blast seeing at Fitness Plus on Sunday and hope you did too! I really hope to see you again in the near future. Let's keep in touch! Kirsten
