i know your suppose to give your muscles a day to recover when weight training does that apply to your abs also or can i work those everyday?  Also I was wondering how hard do I need to be training before I should consider a protein supplement  I just received my ultimate 5 pack and did get ripped it wasnt as hard as I thought it would be I've been doing Jillian Michaels  "no more trouble zones" pretty regularly and I think that one is much harder  just wondering if anyone else has used that one and thier opinion

Hi Sandy,

Remember - you can't spot reduce so if your goal is to see a 6-pack, doing thousands of sit-ups is not going to get you that result. In order to see your abs you really need to watch what you eat - 80% of the equation is diet! Treat your abs like any other muscle - they need a break too :)

Keep up the great work!

I have all of Jillian Michaels DVD's and I love no more trouble zones like all of her workouts it is killer. But I have to say I love Jari's workouts just as much and get ripped and chisled is def more difficult and I see more results than no more trouble zone. I think its great to have a variety. I mix and match all the DVD's. I dont have get ripped. I have Get Ripped and Chisled, Get Extremly Ripped 1000 and Body Rock and all of those are just as challenging as Jillian's DVD's and in the case of Ripped and Chisled it is more intense for me and I see more results. The other thing I like is the length of Jari's DVD's you get more bang for your buck. Try some of Jari's other DVD's along with "no more trouble zones" the combination of the 2 you will really see results fast.

thanks for your input i'll try get ripped and chiseled so far i''m amazed at how fast the time goes when doing the ripped videos. I was kind of worried 60 minutes was going to drag on but it hasn't been a problem.

I have Jillian's No More Trouble Zones, Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism, and the 30 day Shred. I also have all of Jari's DVDs. I think all the DVDs are challenging. I have to say, if you are looking for a purely cardio workout, Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism is the hardest one I've ever done. I've done it dozens of times and I still die every time I do it. I think it depends on what you personally find difficult. The No More Trouble Zones is ALL compound exercises so it keeps you heart rate up. It leaves me quite winded and sore. I can only use 3s on this DVD. Some of Jari's DVDs are compound exercises, some are not. I can lift heavier in the Jari DVDs. Bottom line, I think both DVDs are excellent and have gotten me great results. Ripped and Chiseled is particularly difficult, I thought. A wonderful workout that hits all the muscle groups... and can we say superset? Awesome.

I have Jaris Slim and Lean(LOVE IT), Get Ripped to the Core, Get Ripped 1000, and Extremely Ripped, and Extremely Ripped 1000. I also have Jillians No More Trouble Zones, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and 30 Day Shred. If your looking for high intensity cardio get Jaris Extremely Ripped 1000 very tough!! Also Jillians Banish Fat Boost Metabolism is a tough cardio workout too. No More Trouble Zones is really a great circuit training workout, and Jackie Warner has a similar workout called Power Circuit, and that also has a really great ab section. It really depends what you are looking to achieve. If you need to lose weight and shed fat you'll need to implement more cardio. Right now I am needing to just drop about 2 more pounds and lean out so I am consistently keeping my cardio workouts intense but also using the circuit training too. Plus I added Kettlebells and I can really see quite a difference in just the last two weeks. Like Jari said its mostly diet that will give you great looking abs.
