Does anybody else use protein supplements? I have used whey protein after my workouts for a while now but have just started incorporating a nighttime protein supplement into my routine. I am a vegetarian and thought this would help but I am worried about getting too much protein or too many calories. Does anybody have any advice on this subject? I want to maintain the same body weight.

I use one scoop of Labrada Pro-V 60 protein powder and 1 scoop of L-Glutamine powder after each workout, even on cardio days. I think the protein just helps with muscle repair and growth, but you just have to see how many calories are in the product you're using. You don't want to be taking one of those "gainer" things, I don't think! Hope this helps.

I have a protein shake daily using whey protein isolate (unflavoured) in almond milk, 1/2 banana and chunks of mango plus some omega 3 hemp oil. It's delicious, healthy and is great after a weight training sessions or class!

I think if you calculate the protein shake calories into your daily calorie intake, and it's not too high then it's should be fine. If you're a vegetarian, it is likely safe to say you don't consume too many calories, as vegetables, fruits and grains are generally not high in calories or fat. Try quinoa, beans, eggs and lentils as sources of protein..

Hope that helps!
