Hi Jari,

I love your workout DVDs and am looking forward to the new release tomorrow!

There is one thing I have been wondering alot lately. I also enjoy Chalene Johnson's Chalean Extreme workout program in which I lift very heavy weights in 8 - 12 reps, but you and your crew in your videos have much better muscle definition and a leaner body look than Chalene herself and her crew in her videos. Does that mean that lifting light weights in many reps results in better muscle definition for women in your opinion? Or are there any other possible reasons?

Thank you.

Hi there,

The lean look really stems from diet as 80% of how you look comes from what you eat in my opinion :) I've answered a lot of diet questions in this section and given my basic principles.... take a look!

Thanks so much for your support!

Hi Jari,

Thank you so much for the reply. I didn't realize that what we eat was so important. I will check the other posts about diet.

Chikako, I agree with you. I have CLX as well and I think Jari and her crew are FAR more ripped than the CLX people. I do think the higher rep weights have an advantage.

I know that when I do CLX workouts, I am STARVING! When I do Jari's workouts, I can keep a handle on my diet and I start to lean out. I am going to start on another Jari rotation for this very reason.

Excellent question!!!

Lori,

I also took a break from CLX workouts a while ago and am currently using Jari's newer videos along with Cathe's new HIIT workouts on cardio days. I plan to keep this rotation until I shed all the unwanted fat because Jari's workouts with weights are also aerobic and are very effective in losing body fat.
