I love a hard workout, it's so satisfying and the calorie burn is fantastic! Just wondering if the majority of you do the full workouts Ext Ripped and Ext Ripped 1000 since both are about 1:20 mins long. I have a bit of a mental block when the workouts are over an hour long. But if I only do half of those workouts, I feel like I need a bit more. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Sharon
I do the whole thing for Extremely Ripped. I purchased ER1000, but didn't like it. It was too much cardio and not enough weights. I already do a variety of cardio and like Jari's workouts because of the weights. I don't mind a little cardio mixed in like the original Ripped 1000, but ER1000 was not my style. You could split them up, do half in the morning, half in the evening?
Hey Amanda, great idea, sometimes I do half in the morning plus a 5k run then the next half the next day. I just wish the entire workout was an hour. Doing half in the am and the other half in pm sounds good too! Thanks!
I do the entire workout. I was confused at first because I thought it was just an hour but kept saying, WOW this feels long but GOOD! One day my husband said.."You have been working out for 2 HOURS" LOL! But I think doing the entire thing is great. I am following Jari's rotation schedule for Intermediate it didnt say anything about doing just part of it so I go for the whole thing!
ER1000 was my first DVD of Jari's and i purchased chisled and ordered body rock but have not done them yet. I switch out with ER1000 and about 5 different Jillian Michaels DVD's. I am trying to change it up a bit to make sure I get the right amount of cardio and weight training. All of that gets confusing to me...
I like the cardio on ER1000 just because unlike Amanda I dont have a good variety of Cardio, I wish I did but mostly only use DVD's and its hard to find a good variety. What do you do exactly Amanda for Cardio? I dont like going to the gym and am not a runner so i guess that kind of limits me.
I used to run until a knee injury forced me to quit almost 3 years ago. I have an elliptical with a lot of different programs and I'll do that, or I have some kickboxing DVD's --- have you heard of Cathe Friedrich? She has some great kickboxing, cardio, step and weight training DVD's--- I love Jillian Michaels "Banish Fat Boost Metabolism" DVD, I used to do step aerobics. I don't go to the gym, my gym is at home. Check out collagevideo.com, its a wonderful site with tons of great DVD's, you can watch preview clips of the workouts, there are breakdowns so you know exactly how long each workout it, whether its strength, cardio or a mix of both as well as reviews by people who buy them. Hope this helps and good luck to you!
I just got this and I did the first workout the first day because I was pressed for time but then the second day I wanted to try the whole thing. I had no problem doing the whole thing but it is a little longer than one hour with the abs and pushup section and cool down. I love it!! I can't say enough I really like how quickly it moves and I do feel there is enough strength training in there as well. I have a hard time putting the weights away and doing just cardio. I feel like if you mixed it up and did this 2 to 3 times a week with two days of Slim and Lean or another one of her GR series videos you would really see some fat loss.
I just want to update this, if you are looking to just do the cardio on the video I tried that this week seeing as I need more cardio right now, wow it really is a great cardio workout! My heart rate was way up. A lot of options with this video. It's a 5 minute warm up and goes right into 37 of non stop cardio. I went back to do GR1000 and it was so easy compared to ER1000. My heart rate wasn't up nearly as high in GR1000. GR1000 still a great overall workout but if your looking for that high intensity cardio than ER1000 is really great.
Hey Aimee, thanks for this update! That is great info as I have never done just the cardio segment and wondered how long it would be, etc. Thanks for the time-frame so I can prepare mentally for it!
