Just wondering if anyone else has problems with their DVDs skipping? It's happened on pretty much all of my Get Ripped DVDs (I think the only one that doesn't do this is the original Get Ripped) - it kind of hangs up for a second or two, then catches back up. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it's enough to put a damper on my workout (right when I'm in the zone and working hard, it stops and throws me off). The worst was this morning when I was doing Extremely Ripped. It completely froze and when I ejected and put the DVD back in it still wouldn't work! After trying this 2 or 3 times it eventually worked again (phew!). I know it's not my DVD player, because the DVDs have skipped in a few different players. And also, none of my other DVDs or movies have this problem.

Is it just me or have others experienced this?

Thanks!
Jenn

My Get Ripped and Extremely Ripped both skip sometimes, also the Slim and Lean. Don't know what the problem is but it happens in both the dvd player and on my laptop too.. Maybe a scratch on the surface? I can't see any but they had this problem already the first time I used. Maybe we recieved some from a 'bad' batch?

I've had this happen several times too. Most of the time in my case it ends up being dog hair on the disc! I have a 94 pound black Lab and her hair seems to end up everywhere, even on my workouts DVD's! They used to make these wipes for CD's that were like small dusting clothes, I don't know if they make them anymore. I've checked my discs and there are no scratches anywhere on the surface of them.

I also have had this problem but so far only with the GR to the Core, the screen will just go black right in the middle of the workout and it will say something like this dvd is not formatted to play I take it out and hit play a couple of times and away it goes. I sure hope it does'nt get worse I love my dvds and would hate to miss a workout.

Same problem here. I just thought I needed a new DVD player. Maybe that's not it. I wonder if cleaning them would work?

Thanks for your replies guys! I had emailed Jari (well not her personally, but an email address I pulled off her website) and didn't get much help. It sounded like they were going to replace my DVDs, BUT, since I didn't buy them through her website or at her gym in Calgary, basically there's nothing they can do :( I don't live in Calgary, and would never buy them off her website because the shipping costs are pretty ridiculous.

Since I've had these DVDs for a couple years now (with the exception of Extremely Ripped), I no longer have the receipts! Very frustrating, and I really don't want to buy second copies of the DVDs that skip...what if they do the same thing too??? Oh well, for the time being I guess I'll just stick to the workouts that don't skip, but I find I already miss them.

I just got Ripped to the Core and the warm up completely froze up. When I switched DVD players it still froze on the warm up but I was able to finally get past the warm up to the exercises. The DVD would play at this point but still continued to pause and freeze for several seconds before it would start back. I ordered from Amazon and they immediately sent me a replacement but unfortunately the 2nd Ripped to the Core did the same exact thing as the first. Amazon refunded the cost of the DVD and is looking into if there was a bad batch w/ the manufacturing. I have two other GR DVD's that are fine. I'm going to buy more in the future, but I sure hope I don't have this problem again. It's a big bummer to be ready to work out and have problems like this :-(

Hey Jenn,
I hate to say this, but I have not had a problem with any of my Ripped dvd's, not yet anyway. I to do not live in or near Calgary, and I know what you mean about the shipping cost. I got all of my Ripped dvd's from a website called total fitness dvd's. They are based in the United States and some times they have free shipping. Another thing that I usually do when I get any kind of new dvd, I will view the whole thing to make sure there is nothing wrong with it. Last thing is that I also will hold on to my receipt for about three months or so this way as I'm using them and they start to act up later down the road I can exchange them for a new one.
